**Definitions:**

**Megapascal** (abbreviations: **Mpa, or MN/m2, or N/mm2**): is the SI derived unit of pressure used to quantify internal pressure, stress, Young's modulus and ultimate tensile strength. It is one meganewton per square meter or one newton per square millimeter. It is named after the French polymath Blaise Pascal.

**Kilopascal** (abbreviations: **kPa, or kN/m2**): is the SI derived unit of pressure used to quantify internal pressure, stress, Young's modulus and ultimate tensile strength. It is one kilonewton per square meter. It is named after the French polymath Blaise Pascal.

## How to Convert Megapascals to Kilopascals

*Example: How many kilopascals are equivalent to 24.45 megapascals?*

As;

1 megapascals = 1000 kilopascals

24.45 megapascals = Y kilopascals

Assuming Y is the answer, and by criss-cross principle;

Y equals 24.45 times 1000 over 1

(i.e.) Y = 24.45 * 1000 / 1 = 24450 kilopascals

Answer is: 24450 kilopascals are equivalent to 24.45 megapascals.
